Checked out the Canseco's grocery ad this morning and see they are selling Boston Butts for $1.59 a lb. and that is by far the best price I've seen in the past few months.

Was in Costco recently and they are at least $1 more per pound there in the 2 packs.

I usually wait until they are $.99 a lb. and buy a few to have on hand to make sausage but I'm out of Boudin and feel like making some this week.

Just a bit of a heads-up if anyone is interested.

EDITED to add this: They are on sale only at the Esplanade Ave. store in N.O. Wife pointed it out in a call from the Metairie store location after speaking with the butcher.

Appreciate the heads up. I loaded up when they were $.88/lb at Rouses a couple months ago.

My wife went to the store on Metairie Rd. and was told the price advertised is only for their store on Esplanade Ave. in N.O. after a remodel.

I didn't see that in the ad I had but did find it on-line and that price is only good at that one store.

Cheapest I've seen them is $.88 a lb., but it's been ages. Most of the time they are $.99 a lb. when I get them. Last time they were on sale, I had NO room in either freezer to stockpile them.

Like mentioned, I am wanting to make some Boudin and even at $1.59 a lb. it is still a great bargain since Boudin runs $6+ a lb. now. Besides, I love making it and can do it to my personal liking. Win/Win
