Borgne, the seafood restaurant that was once a hot spot for downtown New Orleans, is closed for good, ending a run of nearly 10 years. The restaurant inside downtown’s Hyatt Regency hotel has been shuttered since the pandemic began in March 2020. But now its 10-year lease is coming due and Octavio Mantilla, a partner in its management company BRG Hospitality, confirmed that it will not return.

borgne was awesome, RIP
best happy hour in town and the food (before landry left) was so good. plus it was relatively inexpensive

Monday fried porkchop and red beans and the Thursday fried chicken specials were amazing. Sad to see it go, and wonder what will take it's spot?

Great place to grab a couple before heading to the dome. Great selection of local canned craft

The whole stuffed flounder was fantastic.

What’s coming and when?

Surprised it lasted this long after Landry left & Besh got popped. The only time I’d ever see that place busy was late afternoon or primetime Saints games

Borgne was yet another place on its way out long before Covid, along with Upperline and K Paul’s etc

Events at the dome/arena had to be the lifeblood of that place.

Figure Hyatt being packed the last couple months helped.

Looked like the old Pigeon and Price event space was up for sale/lease as well.

Spin off question - whatever happened to John Besh? I know after the scandal he had to bow out, but did he actually sell out his interest in all his restaurants or is he just a silent partner now? Any word as to what he's doing these days?
