Went for the first time today. Really great space and friendly staff.
Great potato salad and pulled pork. The highlight for me was definitely the cracklins. Dear god they were tasty. I thought the ribs were ok at best though.
Anyway, I’ve been wanting to try it for a long time based on everything I’ve read here and overall it didn’t disappoint.

Loved their sides. Their brisket is good, but not great. When I went the sausage wasn't good. It was grainy and not fatty enough.
Blue Oak is a place where I would get a chopped brisket sandwich with sauce and enjoy that with a side of mac and cheese and beans.

They have the best wings around. Especially for happy hour.

Blue oak is real solid.
BBQ can be a finicky beast in a restaurant setting, and they do it all pretty well pretty consistently, with a few standout options.

Yep never had a bad meal at blue oak it’s a great well we are at the park/museum/wherever and can’t decide where to eat place. Almost never get bbq plate though- the daily specials like their catfish poboy, different burgers they do, and of course the spicy chicken sandwich are always solid and like others have said their sides are always on point.
Is the vice cream they’re selling any good? Didn’t like any of the flavors they were selling last time but am curious to see if they’re good.

Sides and specials are great at BOB but the core BBQ items, brisket, beef ribs, pulled pork, smoked turkey, sausage are better at CCBBQ. CCBBQ also has a killer brisket bomb .. they also do beef and pork burnt ends and most of the time are very good.
