I’ve been getting into bloody Mary’s lately and am looking for recs on mixes. I’ve tried a few random ones from Total Wine but so far like Zing Zang the best. I’m trying to find McClures but no luck.

Any recs?

Zing Zang is the best. I would not try any others.

We’ve been thru a bunch of the fancy ones. Always come back to Zing Zang.

While zing zang is really good, I'd not consider it the best bloody mary ever. It's a premade mix much like a margarita mix, pina colada mix, etc. Start with clamato juice and work your vodka and spices from there.

I found Charleston brand at my local publix and prefer it over zing zang.

I second this. I like the veggie one too. It’s great in chili as well.

ETA: was talking about the Charleston brand.

not the "mix" but I will comment that Cajun Chef brand spicy beans and the okra are musts to add to your bloody mary if you want to take it to the next level. CAJUN CHEF

Zing Zang is solid but have yall ever tried Gator Blood?
Gator Blood

I was at Calvin's one day and they had someone giving out samples. I was blown away by how good and fresh it was. Super chunky so if you're not into chunks, stick to Zing Zang, but it had fresh vegetable chunks and some good heat to it. Definitely the best bloody mary mix I've ever tried.

A few that I like a lot:

- The Cocktail Experiment - from the owners of Olive or Twist here in BR. Easy to find at Calandro's, Bin Q, etc.

- KayBaby's from north Louisiana - again, I find in Calandro's

- Whiskey Willy's from Orange Beach

But frankly, you'll save money if you start with clamato juice and add seasoning, spices, hot sauce, horseradish, etc to get it exactly how YOU like it. I'm not a fan of Zing Zang, so I have to doctor it up anyway, so I might as well start with clamato juice or buy one of the other ones I like more.

Frog Bone was my favorite but they stopped making it. I inquired and they said glass was cost prohibitive to ship and they were either going the plastic route or never selling it again.

Can't go wrong with Zing Zang

Zing zang is probably the best overall. I do hate all the little bits of spice in the bottom of the glass. Would prefer not as coarse.

I tried this this year and prefer it to Zing Zang, has a depth of flavor that zing zang misses. Just add a squeeze of lemon or lime.

I like the Tabasco one. I am sure I will get downvoted for this but i think Zing Zang is highly over rated.

I been using zing zang mostly with some extra Worcestershire sauce. I also like City Bars mix.

One thing I do differently now is I use trinity vodka made in nola. Guidrys fresh cuts with a kick

I could do without it. But if you want to pack an ice chest with a flask of vodka and some of those cans of zing zang you can make a decent bloody on the tailgate without needing anything else.

Mr. and Mrs. T is my favorite.

Zing Zang has too much floaties. I like my bloody spicy, but not via pepper that gets all in your teeth/throat. Mr. and Mrs. T has a horseradish-heavy version. That's my jam, plus lots of actual horseradish.

Agreed! I opt to not use a straw for that reason.
