Some more recent closings come to mind.

1. Pat's Cajun Seafood & Steak

Odd location on Jefferson Hwy. never took off like it's Acadiana area counterpart. Lasted only 9 months. They gutted restaurant and put a lot of renovation work into it.

2. Mama Della's Pizza

Oddly enough, adjacent to the aforementioned Pat's on Jefferson Hwy. people on this board said at one point it was a top notch pizza place for BR. It was even featured on the hit tv show 'Restaurant Impossible'

What are some others that come to mind?

Lasseigne's didn't even last a year.

Chop House on Jefferson (think that was the name)

The sports themed restaurant in front of Matherne's on Highland. Forgot which LSU player was behind it.

Way back when some former LSU great went in with a group and spent a bunch of money opening a place called Line Backers or something like that. I think it went downhill pretty fast after a big opening with lots of marketing

Warren Capone owned Linebackers off Essen near railroad tracks. Maybe it was around 1999 or so. Anyone know when Linebackers was open?

Didn't Vernon Roger own a place back in the day?

Not sure how long it lasted.

As long as stupid people want to play restaurant, those two locations will continue to get leased and restaurants there will continue to fail. They're downright terrible to get in and out of.

Aren't Bergeron's City Market and Jimmy Johns in those two locations now? They seem to be doing well there.

I was thinking more of a traditional restaurant that relies on people coming in and out during normal lunch and dinner services. Delivery/catering/retail is a different animal.

Didn't realize that Bergeron's was in one of those locations.

Pat's was terrible. Mama Della's had great pizza, but the vibe couldn't have been more wrong. You don't sell premium pizza out of a store that screams "bring your three year old". There's a reason why Domenica, Pizza Domenica, and Ancora each look nothing alike, but look nothing like Mama Della's did.

Bergeron's has a dining area and some pretty solid plate lunches and dinners. I'd give it a try if I were you.

I don't know if it's the biggest flop, but Al Copeland had 2 restaurants flop at the mall of Louisiana in the span two or three years in the late 1990s.

Straya - struggled to catch on until they finally ditched the concept, duplicated the Cheesecake Factory, and reopened under its current 'Cheesecake Bistro' name.

Wrap & Roll - Opened with the mall of Louisiana and closed before the first carousel ride was finished. This one should get bonus points since they closed the sherwood location too.

Dreamland in Southdowns Shopping Center did not last long and they spent plenty money renovating the space.

Straya did fine, but when copeland got divorced (straya was her maiden name) he redid the restaurant

Bergeron's has a dining room now since moving to that location, but I still usually get it to go out of habit. The spot where Jimmy John's is located is a bad spot though as far as getting in and out. It probably would require a business like that to work there.

The three original restaurants off of Corporate, except for On the Border. The other two were complete flops. Forgot the names
