Their wonton (basically dumpling) soup is very good.

So it sounds like there are quality options all over town. That’s great to hear.

Baton Rouge is missing a lot of styles of cuisine, but it has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to Vietnamese food.

Made it down to Dang’s today.
Pork and shrimp spring rolls were good, not great. Could have had more protein in them. They were very flavorful.
spicy beef soup was really good. Lots of meat. Broth was very flavorful.
Service was fantastic.
Everything was really fresh. The herbs really stood out. It all smelled as fresh and good as it tasted.
Will definitely be back.

Since we’re on the topic, 225 magazine voted Chao Yum Phat as the #1 Vietnamese restaurant in BR. I didn’t know ramen and dumplings were Vietnamese.

While true, I think the issue with the 225 awards is that they are online vote based. People are stupid; they make stupid choices.

Nothing against CYP, as I very much like the restaurant.

225 mag still manipulates the voting and will leave off restaurants from polling if they don’t advertise with them

I used to work for a restaurant that was on the multiple ballots each year and would win some. As soon as they stopped advertising with them, the restaurant was no longer an option, even in categories we had won the previous year
