Looking to take wife to dinner tomorrow and she requested sushi. What would y’all recommend as best in town? Live around college/Jefferson but anywhere in town would work. Thanks!

Umami ... it's actually one of the best spots in town period.

I need to go back there. It was very mediocre when I went there last. Seems like fish was sloppily cut, and overall just not what you would expect from omakase

Easily Umami. The sushi there is great.

We also enjoy Sushi Yama but lately all their rolls and such tastes the same. Off menu King Cake Roll is bomb though

Still my favorite. I don’t get rolls though.

Then if you're just doing sashimi I'd still lean Umami because they have the same selection (and quality) as Yama with special fish offerings that you cannot get at other places in town.

Umami, and it's really not close.

Umami has the best food overall but I think ichiban or Yama has the best sushi rolls.

Umami and Sushi Yama are tit for tat. Everything else is a tier down.

Aw I love Umami’s rolls. The Geisha and the Nichi both are great.

I’m going to have to try Umami after this thread. I like Yama and Ichiban. Yama atmosphere sucks if you trying to go on a date though.

Best value is Sushi masa still. I love their appetizers, best spicy Kani salad I have had.
