If I had to pick a brand for this I'd go renfros for the balance of quality/price/variety.

I'm normally not terribly brand loyal as I like to try new ones often

Not store bought, but I'm a sucker for the Las Palmas salsa.

Also, does anyone hate Tostitos as much as me? I hate how that's everyone go-to chip for anything. Yeah its good with a cheese dip or something, but its a bottom tier chip for salsa IMO.

By far my favorite. Only bad thing is that you have to be in Lake Charles to get it.

Chevys is a close second.

I don't really bother with chips so much. To me, chips are just the means by which I deliver the salsa to my mouth. As such, I'm perfectly content with embracing the cheap Santitas, though I prefer the yellow corn. It's probably mental, but whatever.

Now, for salsa I will typically make my own or, even better, homemade guacamole. But if I'm buying, it's a matter of 1) cost and 2) proximity. I had a Target within walking distance of my place, so that influences these decisions. I don't claim them as good. I just claim them as readily available and acceptable.

Unless I'm making it, I can't stand chunky salsas. It's weird, I accept it, but if I'm buying it I want it thin/restaurant style. So that's what I know.

Again, I don't claim it to be excellent, but it served the purpose.

Julio's Hot is indeed the correct answer. My mom bought Hell on the Red (hot) all through my childhood. I honestly didn't know they still made it

Yep. In my opinion, Julio's Hot is the best commercial salsa available .

There was some that I used to get at the downtown BR farmer's market. Can't think of the name of it but it was good. It had a finer than chunky consistency but the flavor was great if you're into the smooth salsas like that.

Bought some Xochitl chips and chipotle salsa at Fresh Market today and both are damn good. Chips are amazing. Salsa had great flavor.

Haven't tried the mango flavored.

I love Mango, but it's dull, lacks that fresh cut fruit pop, not nearly as good as their basic Pico De Gallo-esque IR Salsa.

Italian Rose Salsa out the fridge cold is good in the summer when it's hot outside, otherwise I don't like it much ala carte with chips, just use it on home made tacos, wraps, and in making quick guac with Hess cados.

True, and fresh is best. Like Superior's chips and salsa, Ninfa's green sauce, and El Sol has solid chips/salsa.

Been hitting up El Limon for the $2 fajita tacos lately.
