For me it's the bread crumbs they come by and clean up while you eat. Little things like that always make for an enjoyable experience.

Yep, amazing service and a damn good steak. Love getting waited on at Ruth's Chris.

For BR, Ruth’s service is almost too good for a simple man like myself

40 downvotes for my Sullivan’s suggestion

Sullivan's USED TO BE legit but things have fallen since they chased off their whore mongering manager. That thread is somewhere in the archives of TD.

Never met a dish they didn’t want to cover in crab meat and hollandaise.

True, but back in the day their tuna topped with crabmeat and hollandaise was delicious.

Dried and aged steak under the heat lamp for 1-6 days pending in which day of the week you go

The Ribeye special they run often at Cocha is by far the best steak in BR. Nothing comes close.

Had it on Saturday, was pretty good but not nearly as good as Ruth's

Ruth's is the best in town and its not even close

ETA: the service at Cocha was absolutely horrible on Saturday. Took them 25 mins to bring us drinks, the bartenders were literally standing around talking. The waiter also didnt put in multiple drink orders and one person's entree or our raw oyster appetizer. Hopefully this was just a bad waiter bc the food there was actually pretty good from what i tried (ribeye special with house salad), but for the prices they are asking, i expected the service to be much better.

Really? I’ve never had a bad experience getting waited on at Cocha. They are always pretty quick with our drinks in my experience... I’d say you just had a bad waiter.

I do like Ruth’s a lot, but I remember really liking the steak at Cocha better. Although it has been a while since I’ve been to Ruth’s, so maybe it’s a recency bias thing.

100% Ruth's.

Tried to go to Ruth's on Friday, but it was last minute and they were booked. Went to Stab's instead, because it's right by the house, and we had never been.

Stab's was...without a doubt...one of the worst meals I've ever had in Baton Rouge. I can certainly see why they were only 50% full at 7:00pm on a Friday night.

Damn that's rough. Bad luck I guess. I had an amazing meal last time I went.

I was very surprised. We really wanted to like it, with it being so close to home. Maybe we caught them on an off night. I'll give it another shot.

They were kinda slow service-wise when I went but the food was really good. What did you get?

NOT Sullivan’s!!! Gave it another try tonight because we had some gift cards…probably the saltiest steak I have ever eaten. Overrated 100% won’t be back.

As others have said, Sullivan’s hasn’t been good for a long time now. With how much turnover that area has seen, I don’t know how they’re still in business.
