The lobster bisque was disgusting, the sides were lukewarm, the banana foster bread pudding was not lukewarm but cold. Not a great experience for the great asking price of $200

Might be a one off. That isn’t the typical experience, or at least it wasn’t when I lived in BR

ETA: I’m also slightly biased since I worked there for a period

The Ribeye special they run often at Cocha is by far the best steak in BR. Nothing comes close.

As far as "Steak Place in Baton Rouge" it's really the only answer.

I do agree that it’s the best. I think Ruth’s as a chain isn’t that great, but the BR location is more than likely the best of them all.

It's Ruth's and it's not close. Service is incredible too.

I had a steak at Ruth's one time that was slightly overcooked, a filet that was still really good, the waiter asked me how it was, and based off my reaction they brought out another because I "didn't love it based on my reaction"

Never had a similar experience anywhere else. It was incredible.

Totally agree. There are only a few restaurants in BR where you can guarantee top notch service every single time, and Ruth's is #1 to me.

Its the little things they do as well. For example, they assign your server to you in the computer so when you make future reservations, you always get placed with the same person who knows you.

For me it's the bread crumbs they come by and clean up while you eat. Little things like that always make for an enjoyable experience.

we went to the one in the Hard Rock Hotel a couple of years ago and when the waiter asked how our app was we said it was good but it was really just ok and we weren't thrilled.

He brought a menu out and made us pick whatever we wanted to make up for it, said if we didn't touch it he would box it up.

Incredible.

The steak I had that night is still probably the best I have ever had.

Amazing pepper sear on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside. Topped with lump crab meat. Now I'm hungry again

Yes, agreed!

My SO loves the garnish they put on the tuna appetizer (it’s like a marinated cucumber salad), so they bring us complimentary plates of it They also will let you order half sizes of salads, soups, and sides if you mention that you want something but fear it will be too much food.

40 downvotes for my Sullivan’s suggestion. Has to be a food board record, no?
