Their sausage was my favorite.
The ponce was my favorite. They're trying to sell the place. The distributor isn't providing the same quality of ponce product they were. Really a damn shame. But they're going to be in business until they sell, so they say.

Earl’s.
Ever since the old man got in the spat with his nephew and the nephew took over…that place has continued going downhill.

That's too bad.. The boudin there was great, too.

hat place has really gone downhill the last 15-20 years. Used to be a regular trip for me. I don't even bother now.
I had a stuffed porkchop and also some andouille from Poche's a few weeks ago and it was delightful.
Earls has great fresh boudin (for my taste) but i have not sampled their sausages in a while. Their plate lunches used to be good, but after Covid...not so much for 50% more $$

I had some pork sausage from Billeaud's, and it was fantastic.

I not an expert by any means,
Nor am I.
I have tried Jacobs off Airline in LaPlace and Veron's by the levee in Lutcher. Two places held in high regard by many. They were good. But IMO, Rabideaux's, Teets, and Kartchners (all of whom I've tried) are simply on another level and much to be preferred.

They have great stuffed Pork Pork Chops. Anything with a plate lunch is very good!

Lejeune's only makes tasso now. And it's very good.
That’s a shame. I used to buy the 5 lb. box of their sausage. Some of the best I’ve ever had. I would buy their Tasso as well and you are correct.

Really too many to name. Any small town in Acadiana will have a good meat market with smoked sausage.
