you will get all kinds of answers but, trust me, teet's is BY FAR the best and most consistent smoked sausage on the planet.

Teet's is great, but I'm a fan of B&S in Ville Platte. It's smoked a little heavier than Teet's.
The answer to the OP is always Ville Platte sausage.

I'm a fan of Kartchner's in Krotz Springs. Their smoked boudin and their hog's head cheese is amazing as well.

I didn't think ville platte was in Livingston/Ascension/BR, but everyone can't be wrong.

Thais the mass produced institutional product..... Verons Supermarket is much better. However it still doesn't fit into the OPs guideline of Baton Rouge/Ascension/Livingston

Best smoked sausage by GenJackson1814For years I used Porche's from French Settlement for my gumbo. It had the most amazing pecan smoke flavor. It flooded and he is not reopening. JR's meat market down the road has some very good sausage but it doesn't quite pack the same smokey flavor I'm used to in my gumbo. Any recommendations in the Baton Rouge/Livingston/Ascension area?
D&J Grocery on Black Bayou Rd in Gonzales. Best in our area to me and all I use.
