What is the fascination with this poorly smoked, under seasoned, too lean sausage?

I drove all the way up there and bought 130 bucks worth of variety. All have been underwhelming.

Riverside in Plaquemine makes a far better product, and I don't have to drive 105 miles.

Alexander's carries several different flavors made in house, that are quite good. Supermarket wise, Veron's and French Settlement brands are both solid.

Only tried Teets once but it was not poorly smoked. Seasoning is a preference so to each his own. I thought it was outstanding. Lived up to the hype.

Back to the OP, Rouses was carrying New Orleans Smoked Sausage (fairly new product) that sets the bar for mass marketed sausage .

Can't believe no one has said Jerry Lee's. They have been making sausage for a long time and it's awesome!! Boudin is awesome too! Jerry Lee's Sausage and Boudin in BR
Right there off of Greenwell Springs Road. Worth the drive! He's from St. Martinville
