Honestly I think one of the best sandwiches I've had was a pulled pork BBQ sandwich in the locker room at the Lodge at Sea Island.

bbq shrimp poboy at luizza's is good. fertitta's muff. bbq pork at goldie's in vicksburg.

but going to BR one day we stopped at a dairy dream kinda joint attached to a mom and pop's grocery in bunkie. two parish deputies in front of us ordered "fluke and fries". we figured when in rome....

on a hamburger bun was a burger, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, a sausage patty, a slice of ham and two pieces of bacon. oh muh goodness...

I had this grilled sailfish, or something of the like, on a simple slightly toast slice of white bread at this place right near CoCoa Beach in Florida. They apparently have fishermen bring in their catch and throw it right on the grill. Very good and a nice setting, wish I remember where/what it was.

You're welcome. Lemmie know if you make it and how it turns out. It's REALLY good on a BBQ sammich.

Never will pass my lips. Nor will Miracle Whip. Nor will any low fat mayo for that matter.

I have made my own roasted garlic mayo a few times and I like it. Been awhile. I need to remember how I did it.

As far as sub shops, there is one in Vegas called Capriotti's (I think it started in Deleware). Everytime I go to Vegas, I stop by and get 3 sandwiches on the way to the airport to come home. I get 3 because I can't decide between the Bobbie, the Slaw Be Jo, or the Capastrami. I eat one on the plane, one when I get home, and the other for lunch the next day. I don't know for sure if any of these is my absolute favorite sammich ever, but all 3 easily fall inside the top 10. Damn, I wish there was a Capriotti's near me, I'm hungry.

Amen Brother!
I mix up a "hot mayo" every once in a while using those sliced jalepenos in the gallon jar from Sams. Dice them up and add them and a little juice to HELLMANS. Pretty tasty...

last night i pulled some chicken off of a ralph's market smoked chicken, put some regular mayo & yellow mustard on white bunny bread with a couple slices of roma tomato and salt & pepper...that was a delicious sandwich.

It'll be better in 5-6 weeks when you can get a good, fresh, ripe, homegrown tomato to put on it.

I do like the romas this time of year though. They get me through.
