Is there a close consensus on the BEST ! In the area ! I’m a Roast Beef poboy lover ! I think I’ve tried most in the area ! Bears in Covington- R&O - ShortStop- Parrans- The two in the Irish channel - Mothers- Come Back inn - George’s in BR. -All were good in their own way but I’ve not had one as good as Capo’s Poboys in my early years. I have not tried Parkway yet ! In search of the holy grail of roast beef poboys ! I know there are many opinions in this ! Any help appreciated !

It seems when real surveys are done around the city, R&O’s wins. This board seems to mostly support that.
What is Capo’s?

Capos was a bar and lounge in Bogalusa - my home town years ago ! A wonderful place to grow up and go to school years ago ! Like many things and places, things have changed for the worse ! I still consider it my home town although I have been gone for many years ! If I remember the poboys were pressed in a sandwich press. They were absolutely wonderful and I’ve never had any any as good !

I know from reading this board that I’m in the minority here, but I was unimpressed. They could’ve been having an off day the one time I stopped in though, I’m willing to give it another try.

You call people idiots yet you can’t even Google World Deli …. Clearview and W. Esplanade on the Lake side.

Capo’s is based on your childhood recollection and taste buds. Each person has their own food option and critique. I’m willing to bet anyone who grew up in Metry, Kenna-brah, or the Northshore didn’t drive to Bogalusa just to get a RB po-boy.

Which location?

If I wake up and think, I want a RB poboy, imma headed to R&O’s.

I’ll second that. WD is spot on. Bridge side Marina in Grand Isle has a damn good hot Roast Beef PoBoy.

I just remember it had big, round windows on the side of the building. I was in Metairie for a conference a few years ago when I went.

I’m from central MS so my opinion should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

Does it have to be a traditional RB?

Because I prefer the R&O Special (RB and smoked ham) to their standard, which is tops on my list BTW

I also prefer the Surf & Turf at Parkway to their standard RB
