Ummm, there is still a place called the Beach House. It sucks, but it's there.

FWIW, the actor Ian Somerhalder sister owns that place.

Has been disappointing my last couple of times there. Still solid, but unfortunately rather meh for my expectations. Both times recently I had steak. The two times prior was quail and rabbit. Both were excellent. The steaks just weren’t up to par. Nonetheless, I would not pass up a meal there as I have had very good steaks there before.

As for Gallagher’s, I agree fully on steak and turtle soup. The stuffed chicken breast is also on point. Lastly, their shrimp and grits sets the standard. I have yet to have better. The restaurant is dated, but I don’t think that is an issue.

If old boy goes to either of these places, he is in like Flynn with his lady.

Just my.02.

Excellent pizza, but I don’t know about impressing someone.

The Barley Oak

I know zero about that town but my brother’s rehearsal was at The Lakehouse (and wedding down the street at Maison Lafitte) a few months ago and this bar was the BEST sneak away for beers. No masks on staff or patrons well before the mandate was lifted.
Great craft beer. Nice enough to take a date but nothing stuffy.

It's the Lakehouse owned by Cayman Sinclair now. Hasn't been the Beach House since '95
Not familiar with prior names for the Lakehouse, but Beach House is on Girod right around the corner from Lakehouse, only a 100 yard or so walk from each other

Then don’t take her to Tony’s or do any drug deals

As for Mandeville, none of the restaurants are very consistent - so if you want romantic - I think Nuvolari’s

But any of the other suggestions are good too
