Also this thread makes me sad to realize how bad queso is in South LA.

Maybe we got a bad batch but it was WAY too salty the last time we tried it.

not sure why that was down voted. That's exqctly what J. Alexander's queso is--velveeta thinned with chicken stock. They keep it on the line at room temp and microwave it before serving. Don't get me wrong. i still eat it. Also, their chips are salted with popcorn salt.
