City Cafe on George O’Neal. If I had to pick one this might be it.

Willie’s is one of our favorites. Plus Dempseys a little farther down Coursey.

Mestizo is a good spot near campus. It’s primarily Mexican, but their protein bowls and salads are great. The food is always fresh, they have some healthier options, and I’ve never had a bad meal there.

Couple of suggestions:
Ruth's Chris for fine dining
La Contea for Italian. Little Village also.
Red Zepplin for pizza. Pastimes is more of a nostalgia thing for most but I do get down on a calzone from there.
Ichibans for sushi/hibachi
Elsie's is an excellent choice.
A couple of mentions of Willie's and Dempsey's - like those two also and don't get out to them enough.

The usual places to take people from out of town, like Chimes or Parrains, will be slammed on Move-in Saturday. Phils Oyster Bar might be a good alternative.
I think Chow Yum would be a good option. Cecelia downtown is good too.
Not the best, but Georges would be a good option with a crowd. Poboys.
If you're looking for something fancier, Louisiana Lagniappe or make the drive out to Roberto's in St. Gabriel.

I think Elsie’s is maybe one of the best if not the best restaurant in BR right now.
