do NOT eat cocodries.

There are chains you can eat at: hooters, chilis, longhorn, deangelos, and the bass pro restaurant. As far as actual good cooking...nothing.

Seriously, I am glad DS is moving slowly up in the world of maybe having a place or two that is average, but why is this considered acceptable?

When I grew up in the area in the laty 80's and early 90's, it was Golden Corral as the go to place and not much else. It appears they now have a few other descent places, but half the time I hear about a Chilis and some shite in the Bass Pro Shop.

Here is an idea. How about someone go in and open an original place that might have a glass of wine from a bottle that can't be found at the CVS/Rite Aid. Maybe a few appetizers other than mozzeral sticks/potato skins/spinich dip. A salad other than iceburg lettuce and ranch. A server with some experience. A non fried food main menu.

I don't mean to make fun, but why the fck can't a place with the education and income level of DS have a better restaurant scene?

Maria's, on Florida Blvd., has really good Mexican food. Don't really care for the Bass Pro food, I find it to be very greasy.

We like Don's...good weekly specials. What about that resturant on 16 called Lagniappe? Is this a good resturant?

Have they done something different in the past year or so to improve?
The only Don's that I know of that was good was the original Laffayette location many moons ago.

My appologies for forgetting to mention Crawfords when discussing the long ago descent restaurants. They had gotten so run down the last five or so years they were open in the "new" location that I forgot how good their catfish was at the old strip mall location.

I guess my point is not so say that all of the current places are bad, but that I would think a place like D.S. could have something a little nicer. Mandeville, Covington, Slidell, and Hammond all have a few nice places so D.S. should be able to manage that also.

Tell me more about this LA Lagnaippe place.
