I just looked at that link and it was fairly amusing. Should have been titled, Best of the Jackson area 2013.
How someone could claim all of the best things in Mississippi are in a 50 mile radius is pretty near sighted. I guess it serves the market.

I'll add to the outrage about the Old Country Store in Lorman not winning best fried chicken in Mississippi.
And Government Street Grocery in Ocean Springs makes a damn good hamburger. Better than freaking Mugshots, that's for sure.

The food is good overall, just have to understand that it's not really "authentic". I love their chicken gyro w/ honey mustard and the pita mozz w/ feta cheese dressing.

If Shapleys is the best steak in Mississippi then close that state down. The restaurant was so sub-par that it was literally laughable. The best part of eating there was going somewhere else for dessert on our anniversary night.
