Slight Hijack:

Anyone have a blaze grill? Made in Baton Rouge. Lifetime warranty! Was looking at shoppers choice this weekend really liked them, but they are about double the cost of the Webers!

Blaze Grills are very nice. They are much more high end than a Weber. Their Kamado is awesome

How dies the NG version cook compared to propane? I would like to permanently plumb up to the NG stub on my patio but I’m worried it won’t get as hot.

Looking at the Weber genesis models

I bought the $699 Genesis last May from Home Depot. Love it. I suggest you get a good cover for it even if you keep under patio.

It doesn’t get as hot as a propane grill. I even had the gas company come out to make sure I was getting enough psi. I have both and trying to sell the NG genesis.

Why not just change the jets in the NG grill to convert it to LP gas????

That's a good investment if it is outside and exposed to moisture, dirt and dust.

I just keep mine in my woodworking shop, covered to keep the dust off of it and then roll it out to cook on, let it cool and roll it back inside.

The last grill I had was kept on my 2nd story back porch where it was really convenient since we live on the 2nd floor. That kept the grill out of the weather except in a hard wind driven rain. Problem was, even though my porch ceiling is over 10 ft. above the deck, I saw where the ceiling and wall closest to the grill was getting a bit on the sooty side, especially when burning off the grease after cooking chicken and burgers.

I didn't realize how bad it had gotten until I repainted my entire house last year.

Because the NG genesis was a craigslist score that I knew Weber would replace the burners under warranty for free. I already owned the propane one.
