Best Gas Grill

I need a new gas grill for my deck. Budget is $700-$1000. Thinking of just getting a Weber Genysis as reviews are good. Any thoughts?

When looking at them bring a magnet and place it on the stainless steel parts, if it sticks move on.

Weber is probably your best choice, but also look at any available brand from Onward Manufacturing. Huntington and Broil King can be found at some big box stores.

In that price range the Genesis line is probably your best bet; right now at Lowe's they're $100 off, and you might get by using one of the 10% off movers coupons, although I think Weber is supposed to be excluded.
If you aren't opposed to used, I'm sure you could get a high-end used model like a DCS or Weber Summit in that range if you look around. I have a DCS (bought used, all it took was some elbow grease and a couple of parts and now it looks brand new) and absolutely love it, and my MIL has a Genesis and she loves hers as well. I don't think you'd be disappointed in the Weber.

yup. you can get the one with the 'sear station' for around that price.
webers never go on sale so this is a huge deal if you're in the market.
nevermind they'll pretty much swap any part out on your grill for the life of it (except burners & grate) for FREE.
there are 3 versions of the genesis
- basic with no sear station knob
- 'colored' models with sear plus iron grates (+$100)
- 'colored' models with SS grates (+$200)
i would go for the iron grate model w/ sear station for best value.

What would be funny is if what some people are speculating what the price drop means happens. Some people are thinking the price drop is because the 2017 models may jump on the infrared bandwagon lol. This would be a good thread to save.
There is something to be said about buying a cheap grill every 3-4 years to try out the new stuff on the market than keeping a decent reliable expensive grill for 10+ years. Both have their pros and cons and you come out about the same if you play the sale game right.

Get a BGE, Kamado Joe or Primo for a similar cost. A true lifetime grill and the food taste much better

you're looking at a guy who drove a 1987 accord for 13 years and now have driven a 1997 4runner for almost 20 with 325k miles on it..
guess where i fall on that scale?

As others have recommended, Weber Genesis. I have one and it was worth every penny of the $700 I paid. If it's $100 off right now jump on it, you won't regret it.
I have and egg too, but it's a hassle to start lump to cook steaks (8 minutes), fish, boneless chicken, small cuts of pork etc...
Don't get me wrong, I love my kamado cooker, but if you're not doing real BBQ (slow n low), it's too much trouble. You're not going to taste any difference in flavor for a 700 degree cook for 8 minutes. Even with indirect cooking of the other mentioned cuts there's not enough time for the added wood flavor to make a difference.
