I gotta go with Chicken Shack on Acadian... I get some chicken, a pork chop sandwich, hot link poboy, some knuckle-suckin' shack balls, a sweet potato pie or a slice of 7-Up cake, and a strawberry soda.... best thing is that the chicken is always made fresh to order... and it's hand-batter dipped!

Acadian at Florida, just off of the intersection.

The owner is a prick on wheels.

Is it back open? I tried to get over there this summer and it was closed down for a few weeks in a row. Talked to a trooper and he said he didn't no why, nor did he know if it was re-opening. Haven't been back since.

Best fried chicken I have ever had is at Zea's. I get the red beans and rice (which are great by themselves). They come with two fried chicken breasts, and a link of sausage. It is unbelievable, and all for less than $10. It's only on the lunch menu, but they have always let me order it for dinner too.

I had the fried chicken at Zea's and was not impressed. Not nearly on the level of some other places I've had.

Many people forget, but don't underestimate how good of fried chicken you can get at Hi Nabor or Ralphs.

Ralphs has the best smoked chicken and pork chops as well.

Near the Acadian Overpass, it's a neighborhood grocery store.
