What’s the best place for crab cakes in Baton Rouge? I remember a place on highland near Ruffinos that had a good one

Juban's changed their recipe about 2 years ago and they are the best in BR IMO.

I used to love the ones at Capital City Grill but the last few times I have ordered them they were horribly cooked causing me to send them back. Additionally they reduced the size of them. I haven’t eaten there for a couple years now. Seemed the place was falling off.

Le Creole on Highland across from Ruffinos, had the best I have had anywhere, jumbo lump more broiled than fried, they were superb. I was hoping he would duplicate them at another one of his restaurants.

I know it doesn’t get much love but the crab cakes at Stab’s Prime are the best since Le Creole closed. Literally zero bread filling.

now I'd say Ruth's. almost no breading or filler. Nearly 100% crab meat. Just enough of the other stuff to hold it together.

They're available at Staub's on Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge.

The exec chef at Stabs was the sous at Le creole so he is continuing the tradition evidently. They are darn good
