Probably the best takee-outee I've had in BR.
Options are pretty limited in mid-city area. If I were looking for anything beyond take-out quality, I'd head to Chinese Combo King. Though they are probably somewhere between takee-outee and full service.

Another vote for Oriental Pearl.

I think I might try Oriental Pearl for some takeout for lunch today and report back.
Red Flower was my cheap go-to Chinese lunch takeout spot. A damn shame they closed.

Takeout is the way to go. Don't mess with the buffet. They have real good steamed dumplings. I usually get Kung Pao Chicken, the Missus gets Garlic Chicken.

Alright, hit up Oriental Pearl for a lunch takeout order. I went with the sesame chicken, and wasn't too impressed in all honesty. The portions were big, but the flavor was too tangy for my liking.
I'll probably give them another try because it was fast and easy to pick up but I'll go with something different next time.

Hunan is the eastern side of Baton Rouge. I guess it falls under Southeast BR. Not sure how you never heard of Mid-City BR, been referred to that way as long as I can remember. I refer to it with western border downtown, northern border Florida, southern border is govt and claycut. Eastern border of Jefferson
Edit- the legal boundaries of mid-city cultural district
mid city

You need to try the Pearl's buffet.

I've heard the Chinese menu at Koi is the best around. It's not automatically given to you, though. I believe you have to ask for it.

Most of the places listed here aren't actually "mid-city" as far as naming terms. The signs that say "Welcome to Mid-City" are corner Government/Jefferson area.
Brew Ha-Ha, Bohemia, Bistro Byronz, Fleur de Lis, Superior, Monjuni's, etc.

Actually I just wanted to see if anyone was paying attention.
