Went last Friday and had the following:
Hot and sour soup (delicious)
Spicy cumin pork (f'ing delicious)
House Ribs (very good)
I want to go back and try the Garlic Sauce Eggplant since everything we had was awesome. Omi is now my new favorite chinese place in BR.

OMI is traditional correct...
Whereas places like Trey Yeun or Five Happ. are americanized?
Are there any chinese restaurants in BR that compare to Trey Yeun or Five Happ... Hunan is gross.

Omi>Five Happiness in my opinion

that's like saying... Authentic Chinese > Americanized Chinese... (which is true) If I want General's Chicken, OMI probably doesn't have it... but Five Happ does. Get my drift?

I almost went there since I live in Southdowns off lee but opted out because I didn't feel like getting of the couch. I also fear it will smell on the inside like the previous place that was there. I remember towards the end of the previous place, it smelled like rotten dirty dish water

I'm going to go try Omi tonight. I've never had any good Chinese in BR. I always head down to Nola to grab some five happiness.

You will not be disappointed and you wont be driving to nola to go to five happiness anymore

I think they may be closed on Mondays. You may want to double check before getting off on the wrong foot with the best Chinese food in the state.

My favorite at the moment (I haven't had the pleasure of trying Omi) is Geauld Tigers on Chimes Street. The dishes are flavorful and taste fresh, the portions are massive, and the price is near unbeatable. Same cooks as the old Red Flower.

New Panda on Highland & Airline is legit. So is China Bear on Bluebonnet & Perkins.

I'll have to give it a shot since it's right near where I work.
