What's the name of the real deal Mexican joint in Marksville in the converted Taco Bell? Dang that was good.

Alexandria isn't know for great food.

Really, Wildwood pizza is really good. Rosie Joe's has the best seafood. There is no good Mexican food, some claim Mi Tierra but it's subpar.

I lived there most of my life lol

I personally do not care for mi tierra (Except tamales which are very good).

My favorite Mexican place in cenla is the food trucks in forest hill or Cairo’s if you want to stay in Alex. Tex mex, my favorite is El Parian on 107 in Pineville. They have some killer Chile Colorado and their fajitas are the bomb too.

Taqueria Los Compadres has great tacos. Relatively new place in Alex. Highly recommend.

I would believe the stories. Last time I “ate” there the roaches were running wild. Walked in the bathroom and had a bunch just hanging out. Went back to the table and the wife had her purse packed and ready to go. She saw a few cruising around the restaurant.

Some of the best places to eat are not open past 2pm and no weekend service.

I like basically every place because I have found something I think they all do well. Sombrero's skirt steak is fantastic.

be. Diamond Grill can be good, or you can get overcooked/undercooked steak or shrimp.

Verona's is the same.

My favorite thing to get when I go to visit my dad is the Five Pepper Pasta at Ember's. That's just always fantastic and there's nothing like that in BR.

you are spot on. Not so much for Verona’s, I find in good all the time. But Diamond has been on verge of inedible at times. The risotto came off my plate in a puck last time and my filet was med well

But it is one of the only nicer places we have and I love going for town for dinner so it will always have a place in my lineup

I am glad you like Embers, my last two times were fairly rough there.

I think the best bet for the OP is Tunks, it gets hate On here but old people love it

Neither have happened to me, ever. Every time I go to Diamond I wonder why i don't go more. It has always been the best meal I have had since the last time I went.

Exact experience the only time I went to DG. It was also served cold on a slow night.

I have never had inedible food at Verona though it can be inconsistent and pretty average. The specials are usually better.

I don't think it is a slow night thing, but maybe. Ive gotten it three times, all three times it was cold and solid. I just get extra veg now.

I took a group of customers there a couple years ago. I know for a fact that two went and found food after we left. It was pretty embarrassing.

Ember's pizza can be good or meh (as with everything in Alex), but that Five Pepper Pasta has been consistently good the last few times that I've been.

I'll add that the last time that I went to Tunk's which was like 8 years ago the fish en papillote it was gross.

I've been going to Tunk's since I was 5 and have had some good meals, but that meal was so bad I haven't been back since. I hope they're better now and more consistent. I like that place when the food is good.
