Just go have a few beers in the taprooms. Skip the tours. They are all the same and all boring.

What part of Louisiana?

New Orleans:

Urban South
NOLA
Miel
Parleaux
Most people love Courtyard but I think a ton of their beers taste the same as each other.

As for Baton Rouge, I'd drive out to Gnarly Barley in Hammond.

Courtyard will have some interesting people with a smattering of lunatics there this Saturday.

This.

If you come to New Orleans, many of the breweries are pretty close to each other so walking or a short uber ride would be easy to do.

If you want to plan for a great event to attend, come to Nola on Tap in City Park. It's a great event with lots of home brewers.

Teche has a great place to hang out.

Abita is great because you can go biking down Tammany Trace and then hit up the tap room after.

Tin Roof is a great place to hang out. You just missed Funk Fest over there a couple weeks ago.

Urban South and Courtyard are also solid places to chill out at in New Orleans. The Jamaican food truck across the street from Urban South is worth writing home about.

I tried to go there early afternoon this past Sunday and it was a mob scene. Lines for the restroom, long lines for beer, and kids running around all over the place.

I will have to try it another time since it looked like a cool place.

They did have a seven beer release this weekend, so that might have contributed to the chaos.

It was a Father’s Day event.
And like 7 beer release day.

They get mobbed at things like that but otherwise great beer and ow they have AC at the brewery.

NOLA has probably the best building in New Orleans but not the top beer

I just Don’t love any beer they put out.

They just need to figure out 1 really good hazy IPA.

They patio is worth going to on a summer night, but I’d rather Tchoup Yard

For people not big into haze, it’s a pretty good spot. They have lots of variety
