Meeting friends from out of town next weekend in New Orleans and they want to try all the breweries. We have been to NOLA so we will probably start there and get lunch nearby. Of the others which ones would you recommend?

Courtyard
Urban south
Avenue pub (not a brewery obviously)
These are all near each other

I’d then try possibly parleaux or Nola depending on what they had on tap at the time

ETA: Nola Brew bus is a good suggestion wise

I'd look into renting the NOLA Brew Bus if you wanted a way to get around to all the breweries. They know what's going on at all the spots too.

Neither are better than Courtyard or US. They both have pretty good beers though.

Courtyard & Urban South have to be definite stops and are close to each other.

I would go to Brieux Carre & Parleaux after that.

I would put Second Line above Brieux Carre and below Parleaux.

I've only been once though so more research will be needed at some point.

Port Orleans has a great space and warrants a visit imo

Second Line is not worth a trip to mid city. Their set up is nice but the Bulldog near there in mid city has much better beer.

Brieux Carre has a lot better location and have been putting out better beers recently.

Port Orleans is the best place to hang out and drink, the beer is just subpar.

Courtyard has the best beer selection.

Parleaux for a relaxed feel, but beer is hit and miss.

Urban South to sweat and drink at a daycare.

Wayward is cool, wish the beer was better.

Secondline if you are out that way.

NOLA is what NOLA has always been. Kind of a combination of all of the others. Best sours in the city.

Gordon Birsche isn't bad, but gets no mention because people don't feel it is craft.

Brieux Carre I hold judgment on since a lot has changed since I have been. New brewer and new focus.

Interesting you include this, but not Crescent City Brewhouse.

Good work otherwise, though.

Only been crescent city brewhouse once. All I remember is them not utilizing their view of the river. Shame.

For a tourist yes. People who come in from out of town aren't looking to hang out off City Park Ave.

They do but it's to neighborhoods like Uptown, LGD, Warehouse, Marigny, Bywater.

Good to hear about the better beers. I went once last Summer and all the beers were extra thin with muted flavors.
