Any recommendations of some "other than run of the mill" ginger ale that you've had success with mixing.
Sorry.
I like the Boylan's.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. Taste them side by side. They have differences, but still have a lot of similarities.

There is a reason it is at $95.38(ok that's due to it's Monster Energy line)..but their Diet Black Cherry rocks.

Blantons may be the most overpriced bourbon in history. Colonel Blanton was the first man to ever bottle a single barrel bourbon. This whiskey is roughly 5 years of age and a lot of the cost is in its fancy hand dipped bottle and written labels. Elmer t lee is the master distiller there and picks his barrels from the available lots to which match his personal flavor profile. Great buy around $30. Personally for me the pappy van winkle 12 year lot b when available is hands down the best whiskey around $50 rated 98 points by the beverage tasting institute. Their 20 and 23 year is the best you will get domestically in my opinion. If you want my credentials I've had the privilege of a personal tour of the distillery and barrel samples of a few products including eagle rare 10 year and blantons. Hands down the eagle rare for half the price blew the blantons away. Purchased 2 barrels over a 12 month period and had it custom labeled for us a few years back. Blew through the product and got a lot of people of blantons (bad idea in terms of selling more expensive products).

Have you had the Eagle Rare 17 year?

When buy barrels u get an average of aging involved. Our first barrel was 13 years old the second was 15 years. Actually have the empty cask outside my house from the second. We got a steal on pricing buying in such quantity so sold it for right at $25 a bottle. I think what really gets me about the pappy is the fact it is truly a great sheared whiskey which is hard to find. The William Larue Weller cask strength is great and about as hard to find but the top notch pappy products are really the best you can get. Smoother and a touch sweeter without that spice rye lends. The george t staff bourbon is really phenomenal stuff as well but you need to watch out. It sits around 145-155 proof typically.

Eagle 17 is really a nice product and on that upper echelon of the $45-55 range. Another really great product they discontinued was old charter proprietors reserve. Was around $35 and the same bottle as Elmer t lee. Really miss that whiskey.

Wheated whiskey not sheared on the pappy....I hate auto correct....

Old charter eh? That's almost a right of passage if you're growing up in Evangeline parish

I splurged on a bottle of Blanton's and was not impressed at all. Especially not for the $50 here in MS. More recently, I have tried Buffalo Trace for the first time and vastly prefer it. It's good stuff. Bought some Old Weller Antique 107 tonight. The jury's still out.

I'm a big fan of Eagle Rare and I was disappointed in the 17 year. For that kind of money I'll stick to my Macallan 15 year

Elijah Craig 18
Woodford Reserve
Blantons(if some one else is buying)
Makers mark for everyday bourbon
Bulleit probably last on my list
Really want to try any of the Pappy's
