but have you tried either Elmer T Lee

Tried this for the first time this weekend. I've always pimped Eagle Rare as one of the better value buys for price/product but not anymore more. For two dollars more, I'll stick with the Elmer T. Lee. Solid.

Rebel Reserve, Booker's, or Rowan's Creek are all very good in my book.

I love Eagle Rare and have promoted it hard too, but the next time I go to the store I'll look for the Elmer T. Lee.

Glad you liked it. It has become my favorite everyday drinking bourbon as well. I still drink Eagle Rare some, but if I can find Elmer T Lee, I just go with that now. I did a side by side tasting of the Elmer T Lee, Eagle Rare and Woodford Reserve for an everyday bourbon. The Eagle Rare and Elmer T Lee blew Woodford away, IMO. The Elmer T Lee has a little more complexity and just a little smoother than the Eagle Rare. You can't go wrong with either one, though. Luckily, one of the local guys who owns a wine/liquor store fell in love with Elmer T Lee as well so he's gone straight to the source to make sure he will keep it in stock. Great news for me

I always have a tough time saying a beer or bourbon is better then another because how do you tell someone what there taste should be. But, I did like Elmer T for the exact same reasons you stated. It was definitely smoother to me and I was really impressed.

Eagle Rare on the rocks with a splash of water is my favorite thing to have while relaxing.

How I would rate what I've tried
1. Woodford Reserve
2. Basil Hayden's
3. Eagle Rare
4. Buffalo Trace
5. 1792 Ridgemont Reserve
I actually like Jim Beam Devils cut and Beam black better than Buffalo Trace and Ridgemont

Everybody's taste buds are different, but I like things with big flavors.
Four Roses Single Barrel, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Basil Hayden's, Booker's, Gentleman Jack(everyday choice)

Ahh another bourbon thread... My favorite kind

Another vote for blantons here... Also I'd throw in basil Hayden's and Elijah craig into my top 3 list.

The wife and I were on a cruise all week.... I walk up to the bar and check out the bourbon list... The fools had blantons priced as one of the cheapest bourbons, $6 a glass.

It was cheaper than jack! Im not sure if someone dropped the ball on the pricing or what, but I took full advantage of it. They would grab the bottle when they saw me walking up.

It was odd .... they had the bakers, Booker's, and BH all priced well above the blantons..? Maybe they get a really good deal on it.

I think you were right when you said it was a mistake.

I sat there and chuckled at all the fools paying more than that for much wayyyy less quality Bourbon.

If you want a whole bottle then Elijah Craig 18 is a great bourbon.
Elijah Craig 18 can't suck enough. The Elijah Craig 12 year old for around $25 is the best in the world! I'd pay $50+ for it in a heart beat!
