Praseks in Sealy
Would much rather stop here than Bucee's in Katy or Luling.
Prasek's has always been the best sausage sold at HEB, imo. Stopped at the smokehouse after a San Marcos trip this summer and was impressed with the brisket as well. Also got a pre marinated skirt steak that was excellent after cooking. Definitely a better stop than Bucees if you're actually looking for good food.

its not a knockoff. The original in Hillje has been there forever.

Big fan of the original Truth up there, but it isn’t even close to worth it to have to drive 290.

There is a place on 71 in Elinger that's ok or at least was last time I went through.

If you have to drive I-10 West then pass up Hwy 71 and go to Blacks in Lockhart. The Beef Rib is worth the trip alone.
Also you could take 71 to Bastrop and then take 95 North and go to Louie Mueller BBQ in Taylor Tx.

Smitty's in Lockhart has the best brisket

Smittys is legit, that 20’ smoke wall and the fires burning on the floor next to the walkway. Hard to go wrong with Kreutz, smittys, or blacks. Hit all 3 and decide and then top off with Luling city market on ride back to interstate. Fatty brisquet wrapped in white bread is hard to beat.

Great BBQ 'game plan.'
