And where can I get it? I'm cooking a gumbo tonight, and Wal-Mart literally only had one package of andouille, and it is Richard's Cajun Country.

We always used Savoie's and it is pretty good. Albertson's and such always has it.

Feel like driving to Addis? Cooked a gumbo for Christmas with 4 lbs. of andouille from Benoit's Country Meat Block. Honestly, some of the best I've ever used. By the way, excellent tasso there, too.

Savoie's and Richard's are the only two I buy when I don't have the real thing.

My fav of the commercial stuff...just can't get the real deal up here without a bunch of shipping fees.

Recommend this place as well. That's my 2nd option for the real thing. 1st is this little place called Porche's in French Settlement.

I should have mentioned that I'm in Shreveport. I see a few endorsements of Richard's, so I'll go with it. Thanks, guys.

I did. I bought enough of both to stock my freezer upon my return to TX. Really good stuff.

My favorite is Martin's. It is available at most grocery stores (Matherne's, Calandro's, Albertson's).

The only place in Shreveport that has good andouille is Maxwell's Market on Line Ave. I don't know where they get it but I know it's not Savoies (which I really don't like).
Call first because they sell it out fast and often have none.

Veron's is very good and usually can be found at WD. They usually have the big sticks as in stead of sausage sized.

only thing about verons is the casing is so damn tuff.Stop at Benoits and then Best Stop when heading back to TexAS. bEST STOP HAS great andouille as do Baileys and Jacobs in LaPlace but for commercial every day,Richards is very good,Savoies has gone to Shite in the last couple of years as they expanded their product like and dove into mediocracy.

jacobs is very good; i quit ordering from them because they charge a fortune for shipping. i can order Savoie's or Richard's from cajungrocer.com and the shipping charge is less than half of what jacob's charges.
