Bergeron's in Port Allen Closing?

I heard from a pretty reliable real estate source that Bergeron's was closing the doors on their restaurant side. The specialty meats portion of the business is going to remain. Can anyone verify this? Just a bad rumor? Their food was always pretty solid IMO.

That would be really hard to believe. They're always packed.

I know, even on Sundays. The business may be a headache for the owner?

I heard they were moving the meat shop into the restaurant section of the building, which won't be a bad thing considering there is always a line in the shop.

Spoke with the owners wife. Restaurant side is too much for him to handle. Moving meat market to the restaurant side. Someone else will then take over the old meat market side and operate another restaurant.

thats odd. old meat market side is small compared to the restaurant side. must be carry out only.

I saw that their building was for sale and wondered what was going on.

It's true. They're keeping the restaurant open until they can get sell/lease the space.
