Bennigans becomes Shenanigans

I noticed the sign change yesterday and started laughing.. Now today there is a story in the advocate about it.. Wonder if you can get some 'garlic salt' on your steak there..

went to the Laf version yesterday. Cut some of the menu items. Food not bad... seems like the same stuff.

Are yall being serious? As in the same restaurant on the movie, or club shenanigans from choctaw moved to the old bennigans location?

i didn't believe it myself until we left the mall parking lot yesterday and i saw the sign - sure enough Bennigans has now been renamed "Shenanigans" (the one without firearms)

and also- bennigan's by the mall of la might change to an irish pub type restaurant. girls in hooterish outfits, more pub atmoshere. can't remember the name though. turns out the owner is getting sued by bennigans because he hasn't paid royalty fees

This is the one i saw....had a big green & white banner that covered up the old Bennigans sign with the new name. Now that i think about it, washing dishes at that place was my first job...man, that was gross

After watching that movie, I don't think I would go to a real restaurant named that. Maybe it's just me??

Horrible move.
As said, the Kennah-brah location was the one that was used to film the movie Shenanigans. I guess everyone else associated with Bennigan's did not see the movie...or the new owners of Shenanigans are too dense to come up with another name that doesn't have all of these sick "garlic salt" references.
Seriously, why doesn't McDonald's just change its name to McDowell's and hire Akeem and Louie Anderson? No coincidence at all.

unfortunately, many cities are moving this way.
Case and point: There has been an Olive Garden in west shreveport for as long as i can remember. Never had a huge crowd there, but seemed to stay busy enough. Anyway they relocated to SE shreveport, and you would have thought they give away free food there. But it is 'new' and they advertise. On a weekend night they go on a 2 hour wait- FOR F-IN OLIVE GARDEN! And Monjunis is practically across the street, never on a wait.
The public caves to the mass media. It's a shame because some of the best places go under.
