Beers to pick up in New Orleans?

Stop by Urban South and pick up some of their new stuff
Stop by Courtyard and grab some growlers of stuff

Neither are going to net you much in a trade because they're not nationally known like Parish and Ghost but damn they both make some good beer.


If you bring stuff from Atlanta then plenty of people would be open to it, Courtyard has never really cared if you shared as long as you're drinking their stuff.

Grab some Citralicious at Urban South

Bottles are kinda dicey to fly with. Urban South, Parleaux, and I think NOLA might be your only options for crowler. I'd probably swing through Steins and see what they have in the back room for cans.

One of my favorites. However, the only ones on the shelf have been turding since June. I was in Jackson over the weekend and thought for sure there would be fresher cans but I found the same. I think the rotational series and the one off IPAs(Paradise Lost, Hex Clouds, etc.) have put Crowd Control on the back burner.

Urban South - Holy Roller 2.0 is legit as it gets for an everyday drinker. The coffee IPA is also awesome as it’s the new Holy Roller with coffee added. 2 very distinct flavors

Parish - you mentioned Ghost and it’s still around but last time I was at rouses I only saw a couple of cases left. You can find it with a few phone calls. Don’t sleep on Envie though. Envie is basically the best Pale Ale in the South

Courtyard - rare candy IPA was huge for these guys and it came out phenomenal. Obviously a brewery visit would be a requirement since they don’t distribute.

NOLA - If you like sours, then a bottle from their funk Series is a must. They are releasing a new one Nov 10 but there’s already plenty to choose from. Melon Collie and the Inifinite Sourness is one of my favorites. It’s also in a cool throwback smashing pumpkins bottle.



Hoppyright Infringement will be available in Crowlers and it’s worth a purchase. Juicy, hazy IPA but also well balanced. Comes out in cans Nov 10

Great Raft, they are releasing a new batch of Grace & grit tomorow and if you’re lucky, a Avenue Pub, Cooter Brown’s, Bulldog, etc will at least have it on tap. Damn good double IPA this one brewed with extra mosaic hops. Great Raft was named the best brewery in the state by Thrillist, so these guys from Shreveport are worth seeking out as well.
