Anyone been here yet? I went for a work dinner and food was awesome. Different food than anywhere I’ve eaten in BR. Interesting menu items and portions aren’t huge. Higher priced menu items, but the food is legit.

Haven’t had it but always enjoyed Beausoliel. What did you have?

It just reopened a few weeks ago with new chef.

I split a couple of small plates with two other people. We had the charcuterie plate, chicken and dumplings, and Brussels sprouts.

Also had a sushi roll as an app.

Actually it’s the same chef who was there when they closed up due to the pandemic. Jeff Conaway was in management there and replaced Nathan Gresham as chef when he left a while back. Haven’t been since they reopened but it’s on the list.

I thought that was the case. City Pork is one of my favorite spots in town (probably an unpopular opinion) so I’m looking forward to trying the new beausoliel

Had the grilled octopus & the carpaccio. both were awesome, but portions are very small. Hence why they call them "small plates"

I went to City Pork a few weeks ago and sat outside on that first cool evening and really enjoyed it. The food was really well done and the service was too. I think they have found their game.

And I read today that Jubans might not reopen until fall 2021 and their breakfast restaurant Cristina’s is for sale. Adrian’s is still closed with no plans to reopen.

I’m glad they got rid of Beausoliel and someone with energy picked it up. Look forward to trying it as well.

The chef is David Dickensauge who was chef at Bin 77 maybe five or so years ago. He puts out a quality product. Haven't been to Beausoleil since they reopened a few weeks ago, but parking lot is packed everyday.

He had a place in Gulfport-Corks and Cleaver. What happened to it?

City Pork

City Pork is not bad. I think it’s lost it’s luster but plenty of new things do. It still has good things and has great potential

It looks like Beausoleil is using a lot of menu items that have been on the menu at Rouj and using its influence from their Poké place.

I’ll probably try it soon - it’s worth a shot

City Pork had gotten pretty bad a few months ago. But me and the wife have enjoyed it the last couple visits. Good cocktails and the best boards in town this side of BLDG 5.

Well I think Rouj is awesome, so this is good news. I loved Beausoleil before, and I wanted to hear from others before I tried the new spot.

Went last night and was super impressed. The seasonal cocktails were amazing and very creative.
I got the lobster roll. Very delicious.

For dessert we got the chefs special dessert which was this type of deconstructed smores thing with a Graham cracker crust, marshmallows, chocolate, ice cream, and ash. Literally the greatest dessert I've ever had in my life.

Damn, that looks good.

I just checked out their menu online and I couldn't even get past the raw menu without wanting everything.

As does their website.

My wife and I have gone consistently for dessert and drinks for several years now.

I can promise you one thing. The quality of the pot de creme was steadily dropping before Covid.
When we went a few weeks ago, it was pretty terrible.

This is disappointing, but the new menu looks promising. I think City Pork owners know what they're doing.

For the love of God, please fix the pot de creme!! It was a staple.

Hate to hear that. Their pot de creme was my favorite dessert in the city. Headed there tonight, so I'll report back.

Ours too if you couldn't tell. If we went out at all we would end up at Beasoleil.

To be more specific, the consistentcy was just off. It was not nearly firm enough, and the cream on top did not seem fresh and was kind of runny as well.
Flavor was lacking. Overall, just pretty bad.

I await your report.
