No. 5 Sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon worchestershire sauce
1 tablespoon rub
Optional: I usually add a few shots of Crystal, maybe some molasses, or whatever else sounds good.
Simmer to marry the flavors and thicken as desired.

This is my favorite over all the store-bought sauces. I often make a double batch and keep the leftover in the pantry. It will be good for weeks.

I really enjoy (and my oldest does as well) The Salt Lick's BBQ sauce. Usually pick up a couple of bottles every so often in the Austin airport when I am traveling.
It is a vinegar based sauce. In my family, this is our preference.

Another vote for Head Country. It's about as good as it gets for store bought. Blues Hog is THICK and SWEET if that's what you are after.

I think Rouses has Garland Jack. That is my go to sauce. Love the squeeling hot and the brown sugar style.

Sweet Baby Rays isn't very good to me. Big time chain sauce I'd go Stubbs spicy over Sweet Baby Rays. I had the dreamland sauce shipped over here on a rec from this board. I dig it, but it is a thin, vinegary sauce that most of my friends out here just can't deal with. Their loss, I guess

I buy Dreamland and mix it 50/50 with Corky's from Sam's Club. Makes a sweet thicker sauce with some vinegar.
