It's been a couple of years but it was still good then. They aren't the "hot" thing anymore so less people go there and in that way Austin has become like Dallas.

I went recently and really enjoyed it. It can be pricey, but a beautiful setting and awesome location. Right next to via 313 too which is awesome pizza.

Eat some barbecue damn it. La Barbecue is my personal favorite. Get brisket and a beef rib.

Is Odd Duck any good?

I was perusing restaurants for my trip next week and stumbled on this one, and it looked great.

Yes, it is very good, the menu changes frequently though so it may be different when you go. The chef that opened it also has another restaurant called Barley Swine that you might be interested in. It is a little more upscale with a chef's tasting menu. I still haven't been myself but have only heard great things.

i haven't. That area out on Manor (may-ner) is becoming pretty hip. They are a little further down Manor than most places but it looks like a nice outdoor area.

I forgot that restaurant week is going on until Sept. 2. You may want to take a look at some of the menus these restaurants are offering. Some of them have pretty good deals.

Agreed on Salty Sow. Check out Pitchfork Pretty down the street from Intero on Cesar Chavez. Do the chef's tasting. Excellent farm to table and local. Similar to an Emmer & Rye.

Via 313 is great pizza.

Leroy and Lewis at Cosmic Coffee has unbelievable beef cheeks. Atmosphere is cool. If someone isn't into the bbq get Tommy Want Wingy.

Fonda San Miguel is interesting. Don't go there if you're looking for run of the mill tex mex. But do go there if you want a great skirt steak with chimichurri.

June's All Day on S Congress is a good spot to grab a lunch while cruising around S Congress.

The smoking Old Fashioned at Lonesome Dove is great. As is the pork chops.

Ribeye at Lambert's is one of the best i've had.

Buddy just went to Gus' Fried Chicken and said it was the best he'd ever had.

Enjoy!

Great time in Austin except for our game where our team forgot to show up. On Friday we were hanging out on South Congress & ate sushi at Lucky Robot. Very good place & it is all about the hippies at that place. The waitress went on about a 2 minute intro that went over exactly how organic the food there is. It was exactly like that Portlandia episode. I recommend this place but go in with an open mind.

Hit up Rainey Street & went to Bangers. Great place & they played nothing but early 80's country as it was mid day before the live band started. LARGE beer selection. Stayed at Aloft Downtown on 7th & spent a lot of time at Upstairs at Caroline which is on the 2nd flood. Drinks & games. Nice place. I highly recommend brunch at Caroline's also.

Before the game went to Scholz Garten on San Jacinto which is close to the stadium. Old school Texas heaven. They had drinks stands set up inside so it didn't take long to get a drink. We stayed inside as we had a table & it was so hot outside. They shut down streets all around there & have food trucks & beer stands set up near there.

All the fans were pretty cool. No issues with them being dicks at all. You are always going to have your obnoxious young drunk guys but we didn't have any problems. I just wish we had a QB & a coach who care.

Watch out for all the homeless. They are everywhere downtown. Austin is a great city to drink & eat in. You all will have a good time for sure. It is going to be completely insane next weekend.

Thank you both for this rec. Just got finished. This place is one of the best places I’ve eaten in a while. Our whole group loved it.
