$100 Weber. And yes that includes smoking meats as well.

The Weber kettle is still the best bang for your buck grill/smoker around. It will cook anything as good or better than an egg, but will use more charcoal since it isn't as insulated.

did this gheyness occur only after the green egg came into the picture? i know lots of people with them that seem perfectly normal and only enjoy them for their cooking capabilities.

I've smoked on mine far more than I've grilled. Guess it's really just a smoker.

I have a propane grill and an uprite propane smoker........paid less for them combined than the smallest BGE.

Love the ease and tmieliness of propane.

Will investigate the BGE/Primo soon for times when I want to relax...

There is a time and place for everything.

Ruzil: What size is that BGE and how much does it cost? That thing looks super small.

I just pulled that off the net. It looks like the large egg, but sometimes photos can be deceiving.

fwiw, I have a large egg and have no problem cane smoking a 20lb turkey on it. The large is perfect for my uses, but they do make a xl model that can fit 2 20 lb turkeys. The problem with the xl is that it takes more fuel and it's not as efficient.

Can you fit a rack of ribs laying down on the BGE? I don't like to cut mine in half and hate rib racks FWIW.

I have a large. I do it all the time, but I like the rack when I have more than two slabs.
