The chef at a restaurant is a public face of a business. If you as the chef make yourself look bad, it’s gonna look bad on the restaurant too. Then they have to decide whether they just take the hit, or punish you or fire you in public to separate themselves. Not saying what Rob did there was right, but Arabi following the ways of his predecessor is not a good idea

Life is one big social experiment. Anyway someone wants to slice and dice the psychological make up of someone is for another thread. I just want to eat good quality food and learn along the way. I could care less on some blog where we have keyboard nazi’s trying to get a leg up on each other. Let’s face it, there was no social media that long ago so, we are evolving. Some will like it and some will not. Either way I got some bbq tips and tricks to go along with some recipes and knowledge on this thread! Peace...

A few pages back, "chef" Rob, knowing nothing about me, assumed I was a poor and decided to attack my wealth. So am I to assume Rob is an independently wealthy individual? Would be kind of fricked up for a poor to attack some for being poor without any knowledge of that person.

Well this thread took an unexpected turn. Should of read it earlier.
Guess the recipes are done, was liking that direction.
Congrats Arabi on the new job, good luck. Was going to go to CCBBQ when I was down there around Xmas/New Years, but decided to go to the place in Belle Chasse. Hadn't kept up with the news they put you in charge. Will have to swing by next time I am down.
He's been here awhile though. He posts in a lot of the BBQ threads and always been helpful and trying to steer people right.

I’ve read them. That doesn’t change his appearance in this thread

I agree. It was not a good move on his part.

This is exactly how I thought this thread would turn when it was first started. Par for course.

Not always. General Manager or owner have always been the exterior "public" faces of the restaurant world.
After the creation of celeb chefs some places have gone to more chef centric atmospheres and there are more chef owned restaurants.

Good lord how did I miss this train wreck of an awesome thread?

I pointed out the "behind the keyboard" to someone back in 2006 and they said well look at you responding from behind a keyboard.

Please Lord above, dont let this thread get whacked or deleted. It was glorious. Glorious. One for the ages.

Wasn't that long ago those baws won both butt and ribs at Hogs.

I mean, where do you even begin?
This guy is one of the most narcissistic douche bags I’ve ever seen post here. It’s pretty amazing that he is able to make so many people dislike him through written word.
Just goes to show you that you can make great BBQ, but if you are a douche you will be eating alone.
All the people praising him here just want more of his recipes.
Grow up “chef”
