The most anticipated opening in Baton Rouge since the kickoff of the 2014 football season.

Somehow, I find that especially depressing.

Any reviews yet by anyone? Are Nick's Curbside burgers still spot on? Menu depth? Beer selection? Layout?

Why am I only seeing multiple Mortal Kombat machines in the pics, and far fewer machines than NO's Barcadia? Where the hell is the Multicade machine with a large tracker ball?

Are they going for the breataurant atmosphere with those waitresses? I've only been to Barcadia in Nola a couple times and I don't remember the slut factor being turned up as much.

I went last night. Had a burger. Man I missed some curbside. It was a young crowd. Service was great. Menu depth was decent-id say similar to a typical sports bar.

I'm Hungover and struggling so sorry for brief review.

That's to say the least. It's been a complete beta fest the few times I've gone..like a 99% male ratio.

I imagine it will be much different at the BR location.

Went, Curbside Burgers are still fantastic.

I didn't even care about the rest of the menu, only looked at the burgers.

Beer Selection is not very good, the NOLA location did better with that. probably around 20 taps, mostly the lightest local options (abita, parish, bayou teche, nola), fat tire, pbr, shock top, Irish Channel Stout was only stout/porter. Hopitoulas and Hopsecutioner were the IPAs. Bottled beer was BMC, New Belgium, and some other random stuff.

Layout is like Serranos, except patio area now closed in with glass garage doors, games in patio area and I believe one other room.

Young college crowd, if you are over 25 you will be the oldest person there.

It's a nice place, they spent a lot of money on renovations. That said, after newness wears off, will college kids go buy $11-$13 hamburgers there regularly? Or just eat at 5 guys or Raul's, then go bring some pocket change to Barcadia to drink PBR and play free Jenga?

for BR that is great. they cant compete with the chimes selection.

I can see this place having the type of atmosphere and crowd the bulldog has
the air hockey machine is a nice touch. only place in BR that has one in a bar I think

They don't have to compete, they just have to make an effort. They did make minimal effort on a beer list, which yes, is more than the zero effort a place like walk-ons makes

Seems like they are focusing on the local beers more than the international ones

Makes sense to me. Why would they try to compete with the established beer selection at Chimes? I would argue they are making a good call by NOT competing for that segment. They should go for the people who want to drink copious amounts of cheapish beer/pitchers and play games. Be a close to campus option that falls between Chimes and Tigerland. $13 burgers makes zero sense though with all of the options right there.

20 taps of assorted craft beers is pretty good IMO

I wouldn't necessarily call those craft beers. There is room for improvement but nothing I'd complain about. As someone mentioned much better selection than Walkons

For a place primarily serving college kids, that's more than sufficient.

I think you missed my point

My response was based off the fact that guy said the selection WAS NOT good....then proceeded to add there were 20 beers on tap

That's contradictory. Most places don't even have 10 on tap. 20 is a very good selection.

Quality is a totally different story

but

Quality =/= selection.
