My brother is getting one which means basically I will have one as that’s where we do all of the grilling. I think the key is using it for things that you would generally do in a skillet inside, especially for multiple people.

I can see where this would create some problems.

If you want to get a flat top for your grill, I'd recommend looking into a set of grill grates. They have holes in them for the grease to drip down while keeping flare ups at bay. Amazing for smash burgers or searing off skirt steak. Difficult for fajitas or anything sliced up since they don't have any sides to help keep things contained

You might want to get the disposable aluminum cups that fit in the grease trap for easy cleanup of that.

Never knew this was a thing or thought of some disposable option.

Edit to op: have a 36 and use it 1-2 times a month at least, sometimes more.

Anyone here have a blackstone griddle?

Just bought one last week and used it camping at Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky. I bought the 36 inch unit as I cook for a lot of people and it is still portable "enough" for me with its folding legs and removable sides.

The first cook with it (Saturday morning breakfast) bacon stuck to it. Yes, I seasoned it very well before use - 5 or 6 rotations of heating it all the way and using a small layer of linseed oil. It still stuck and I was thinking I was a huge sucker.

That breakfast was bacon and pancakes. After the bacon stuck it cooked fine.

I also cooked the following on it over the weekend:

- Sausage
- French toast
- Hamburgers
- Steak
- Ham & cheese sandwiches
- homemade hash browns
- scrambled eggs

The more I cooked on it the less and less things stuck, by Sunday it was very much non-stick.

Clean-up is a breeze, it seems to take a lot of propane (of course the 36 inch griddle is huge so it makes sense). It definitely is going to stay in my arsenal which also includes a Treager smoker and a Weber grill.

Very solid product, cooks well for a griddle and is easy to use. The steaks are not as good off of it as when I smoke them and reverse sear, but smoking is not in the Blackstone's wheel house.

I would recommend getting one.

I would think it would be perfect to sear after the slow cook on another device.

Costs almost half of the Blackstone and works just as good...

Just got a set of Grill Grates to replace the grates on my Weber Genesis. Good so far.

Meathead at Amazing Ribs is really big on them for gas grills. Cast Aluminum GrillGrates (TM) Are the Best Thing to Happen to Gas Grills Since Sear Burners

You can turn them rails up, flat-side up (like a griddle), or mix them. The flat side is a good way to griddle if you don't want to add another cooking item to the patio.

This guy has his mixed half and half. They are simple to rearrange.

You can leave a gap for 2-zone cooking. Rip a sear on the flat side, then finish cooking on cooler grates. Or reverse sear.

I also have a Little Griddle Professional if I want to griddle on my grill. It's 24" X 16" and still leaves me space to use other burners on my 40" grill.

Backyard Pros has a 30" X 16" but it doesn't appear to have the grease channel that the Little Griddle Pro has.

I often wonder how you keep bugs from taking a nose dive into your food while cooking.

This is the time frame when most people bought blackstones.

209 on amazon, and could be found in tha 150s from walmart and i saw a recipe where someone bought 2 for 98 bucks each.

I love mine but i would not pay 350 for it. I would get a smaller one if i had to pay full price or get one of those fold up ones.

I would think the same but I’ve noticed soon as I fire up my grill the flies come like I’m ringing the dinner bell.

I have a camp chef flat top. I use it once every 2 weeks or so. It works great and glad I have it even if I only ever cooked burgers on it.
