I just remember one lady calling in wanting know how to cook red beans and rice. He started explaining and then she kind of cut him off and said no I don't like that style, then he started explaining another variation and she stops him again, and then finally he said which restaurants version do you like then? And she said "Popeyes". Man he got hot and said "just take a few cans of Blue Runners and a pack of hot dogs and throw them in the blender" Lmao.

On an almost daily basis he forgets the names and locations of sponsors and the items on their menus that he likes. He has trouble remembering that The Grille in Metairie has the same owner as the Camellia Grill.

He's known for looking down on chain restaurants, and especially fast food. But I wonder if you put like a Wendy's Triple Baconator in front of him, and without anyone looking, if he would just mow the thing down.

He eats 50% or more of his reported meals at chain restaurants.

Humor. Imagine calling into a saints football talk show and the host doesn't remember who Joe Horn is.

Fitzmorris, I only listen on Thanksgiving when on the road as a tradition.

Never took him seriously after he kept saying Bozo's was a great seafood place. We went there and it was obviously something that may have been true in the past.

Then years and years ago he did a great April Fool's written piece about the old bunker on West End having been converted into a restaurant. But then went on and on about free lamb chops served with bread etc and I remembered it was April 1st.

I used to love this every year. For both the one you noted and another one about an old plantation restaurant near Elmwood opening back up, he tricked many people. It was funny, because the regulars play along and then you get the dumbass callers who fall for it and say they drove by the place and was wondering why it wasn't open.

One old lady even told Tom he was rude for doing this to people.

I am an occasional listener in the weekend, but I do know from what he said on the air a few weeks ago is that he is on the air nearly 7 days a week. Weekdays on HD2 and weekends on WWL’s main channel. I can see how he is losing his marbles, I wouldn’t be able to tolerate that schedule either.

Now that LSU and Saints are heating up. There should be less Food Shows.

BTW...I tried Parrin’s Poyboys and was not impressed. The Roast Beef was terrible.

And don't you worry, he will be sure and let you know why he's not on the air this time of the year and let you know that he's not a sports fan. And then he will let you know two more times.

I got curious as to how bad he had gotten. He wasn't as bad as I expected.
