Fork is a far superior utensil.

Not using chopsticks to be “authentic.”

you're not wrong

I just use chopsticks for sushi because it's a little added fun and less messy

Chopsticks? After you have seen luggage with wheels, do you still carry around a 40lb suitcase? After you have seen a fork, why would you use chopsticks?

Japanese use their fingers to pick up sushi. Ever since I saw that, chopsticks got chucked.

I use chopsticks not just for japanese, but for other dishes as well. Once you become proficient you find it's a great way to eat.

Absolutely correct.

Real Japanese people eating sushi use their hands.

If you want to be pretentiously ‘authentic’, put down the chopsticks and dig in.

Only sometimes with sushi or noodle dishes just because it’s kind of fun. But yea 90% it’s Fork or hands for sushi.

Me. I don’t know how to use them and don’t care to spend time learning.

Fried rice is better eaten with a spoon. I can twist my Thai noodles like regular pasta, and I just eat sushi and rolls with my fingers.

I always use chopsticks. They are easier for me to use than a fork.

I eat tomato soup with chopsticks. Still got a little bowl here I've been working on since the Clinton adminstration. It's got a bit of a fuzz to it, but the depth of flavor is immaculate

Also a hell of a diet aid when you don't know how to use them.

sashimi

What in the frick?

Nigiri is perfectly acceptable to be eaten with one's hands. Maki and uramaki may be eaten with one's hands, but chopsticks are preferred. Sashimi is always, always eaten with chopsticks.
