Anybody here have a Recteq B380?

Just hit order on one.
I currently have a Pit Boss 1000XT that I love but it takes up too much space and while I use it almost daily, it's too much space for how I cook. If I could heat up part of it like propane I'd be keeping it.
Any tips/advice for the Recteq? I'm excited over the size, I'll be able to bring it to the hunting camp.

I have one, love it.
Was my first foray into the pellet smoker/grill market.
Plenty of room for a larger brisket or a couple butts.
Holds smoking temp well, haven't used the riot feature other than a handful of times.
Only downside is not having Bluetooth temp control/monitoring...but if you wanted that, you'd be looking at a different Recteq.

Yeah but I think I am like the OP. I never cook for a bunch of people and this seems like a great intro as it also seems to easily double as a normal grill. Plus the price is hard to beat. I have almost pulled the plug on it multiple times.

I have one and absolutely love it. I've cooked so many different things on it and I love the space and versatility it has.

I've had the 590 for about 8 months and got the bullseys last week for hot and fast cook. Did burgers and steak on it already. So far I love it.

that was my main complaint about the pit boss. i pretty much used it like a wood fired oven. it didn't get hot enough to sear.

gosh dang looks good. have you done chickens on it yet? looks like you could fit at least 3 spatchcocked chickens

I agree to all of the above, the handle used to move it around is pretty light weight. I store mine and move it around and that always feels like it will snap anything. ESP with a load of pellets in it. other than that its awesome for us and what we do.

Yeah I have a 340. this is definitely my next purchase especially for the price. How hot have you gotten it I've heard 700 is obtainable.

I pinged it out at 749 which I think is as high as it’ll register

I got mine up to 749 as well. It was hot as hell when I opened it up.

oh hell yeah (no pun intended). The high temp was what really sold it for me. I had been doing a reverse sear and would sear either on the stove with cast iron or over a charcoal chimney.

I've had the grill since Tuesday. I've cooked every night on it since. Holy crap I love this little grill. Riot mode got up to 748 degrees and cooked at about 650 with the lid open.
My pitt boss wouldn't cook good burgers because by the time the heat got back up to 500 after opening the lid it was time to flip them or remove them.

Also pulled the trigger and bought one of these. Have done about 4 cooks on it. I am loving it. Yes it’s gets up to 749 degrees in Riot mode. You better have some mitts and long arse tongs when you are cooking with it on high like that.
Had my first flare up on it a few days ago. Make sure to have a shop vac handy along with a scraper. Clean it out every 2-3 cooks or so or more often if you cook something messy.
