I know they've only been open for a few days, but I'm looking for some early reports. Any experiences yet?

I was confused at first. Tableau is also the name of some high end data reporting software. So asking for early reports made me laugh. NERD ALERT! Ok I'm done, nothing to add here.

Was coming in here to start this same thread, you little mind reader. I hope to try it in the next few weeks. The food on the site looks ah-mazing.

Haha! Great minds I guess!

I hope to make it there soon as well. The menu looks good. I know they spent more money on this restaurant than me and my children/grandchildren will ever see, so I'm curious how it goes.

I haven't been yet, but a friend has. She said it was very good and comparable to other high end Brennan's Restaurants.

I'm going to give it a few months before I go.

Like the location on the opposite side of the square from Muriel's. Didn't know it was open yet. Maybe get to it in the summer

I just tried Tableau last week for brunch. It wasn't bad. I got the scotch eggs with poached oysters. It was a dish I had never had and it was pretty good.

I think the piano music was way too loud. Other than that, it was great. I can't wait to see something in the petit theater since it's been renovated.

I went for brunch during Jazzfest, second weekend. Food was fantastic, atmosphere incredible, service excellent. Of course, the weather was perfect, slightly cool, so all the doors were open. My favorite dish was the shrimp and grits, and we had a couple of bottles of Cade SB to wash it down. Eggs Hussarde and Eggs Sardou also delicious. Waddled out after strawberry shortcake and pecan pie passed around table.

So...any updates on Tableau? Heading there this weekend and have heard great things about the build-out and atmosphere but not much about the food. Any go-to's?

My parents went a few weeks ago. The food was fine, but just not impressive. It's not a place to which they would return. My Dad commented that he ordered the Napolean salad which was constructed in such a way that it was very difficult to eat as the dressing was on the bottom. Not much in the way of tomatoes on it, either. It annoyed him so much that he wrote about it on the comment card. He's never written on a comment card in his entire life.

Granted, they'd eaten at R'evolution the night before and Peche for lunch the same day. Based on their experiences at those two places, Tableau had two fine acts to follow.

Yeah, my parents said there are too many other better places to go. Nothing they had stood out.
