When I was in SE Asia they had these street vendors with carts making fried crickets.
Not that I was tempted to try that nasty crap, but someone told me not to eat them because the way they farm and harvest them was they grow a bunch of crickets in a big field and then dump a TON of insecticide on the field. Said there was so much bug poison on those things you could taste it.

Yea, because they’re fricking disgusting, which is kind of a big deal when it comes to nutrition. If something is so gross you can’t regularly consume it, it’s a shitty food source even if it’s nutritious. Humans have been eating bugs for years.
If it's appetizing or lacks flavor and can be used in dishes, why not. We eat fricking nutra rat here, so who cares.

I’ve eaten crickets before and they weren’t bad. It’s one of things I’ll try but not going to pay for it because there are currently much tastier protein options.

I forgot you like it that leeches on our tax system are buying whatever they want with our tax dollars.
