Take it with a grain of salt, but I have a list of New Orleans/ Northshore restaurants that I created 2ish years ago when I knew I was moving to Nola and have added (and subtracted when restaurants shut down) to over that time. I have never been to either but on my list is Aki and Megumi (both are technically Japanese).
Not sure if that’s exactly what you are looking for or if you want more wok food, but I hope it helps
ETA: Aki is in Covington; Megumi is in Mandeville

Trey Yuen used to be one of the best in the South. I don't know if it exists now though.

BTW, hows business been since you reopened? I meant to stop on Thursday on my way home after my haircut but I took the wrong direction (you would think after 2 years I would finally know my direction on causeway but apparently not). My girlfriend lives in Kenna, brah so I'm for sure going to stop by soon.
Waiting on a new beat to drop.
Mayo, Onions, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Meat, Cheese, Mustard

Northshore Empress for me. Food is excellent and the owner is a staunch conservative fine gentleman.

I
I had fond memories of Trey Yuen from childhood. We went less than a year ago and it was very disapointing. The building is still neat, but it felt unclean and worn. The food itself was over-sauced, poorly executed Chinese. I realize how lucky we are to have Omi and Lee's Asian in the general BR metro. Both are outstanding. Trey Yuen left me questioning my childhood. Has it gone downhill that much, or have i just had much better Chinese now? Both I think.

I agree with you. Last time I went, which was probably eight years ago, I thought the food was slightly better than mall Chinese food.

Northshore Empress. We ordered takeout from here a few weeks ago. 10 entrees, two different soups and a few appetizers. Everything was spot on.

I don't live on the north shore but I used to love Trey Yuen. Has it gone down that much?

It was kind of like seeing a childhood hero begging for change on an off ramp.
The local hot wok takeout was better. The moo shu “pancake” was a few cold, dry mission tortillas if that paints a picture. The whole building smelled of damp mop water like it had recently flooded
