Went to Lebanon's in New Orleans this weekend and it was nice to able to bring your own wine.

Any restaurants in Baton Rouge allow you to do this?

I don't think the ABC laws there allow it for places without a liquor license. Some places with one may allow you to bring in your own wine and charge you a corkage fee.

Did at least half of them have the requisite bottle of Boones or Nighttrain to show how "ironic" the folks who had them can be?

Yea I thoght the same thing very egotistical.

I walked through there not long ago, many of those bottles were still there sitting on a table with name tags.

Manships had quite I few bottles, wish I could have helped myself to a few.

I think you can anywhere to be honest. Well, any nice place.. obviously not Chili's.

My friend went on a date to Gino's the other night and said her date brought a bottle of wine.

Most restaurants will allow this. It is considered bad taste to bring one that the restaurant has in stock and understandably so. They will usually charge a corking fee as stated above. $15 on average from what I've seen. I would call ahead just to make sure instead of looking like a dumbass holding a bottle of wine you can't drink.

For a place that has an actual wine list, I'd say it's bad taste to bring anything that's not some sort of special type bottle not readily avaiable retail.

If you're toting in the bottle of Kendall Jackson you just pulled off the shelf of Albertson's on the way to Gino's, I think you look like a complete douchebag.

I personally have never seen anyone bring wine to a restaurant, but I have heard it's done sometimes.

I'm actually checking on the regulations on this very thing right now. Will report back when I get my answer. It's not too quick to get answers from government agencies though.

The only places I've ever done it, are the places here in N.O. that don't have a liquor license, and let you do so. In those cases, you can pretty much just be okay bringing in whatever.

Makes sense.

I couldn't imagine doing it at a place with drinks because I love trying yummy specialty drinks at restaurants.
